Love and Thunder Box Office Day 2 in India: Thor: Ragnarok [2017] was released five years ago.
It had done well opening at 7.77 million and closing at 27.66 millions. It was a huge success with a lifetime gross of 58.73 million.
This was when Marvel films were just starting to make an impression on Indian audiences.
Even though they weren't making huge profits at the box office that year, their impact was felt.
This can be seen by the fact that Thor: Love and Thunder, the next installment of the superhero story
grossed 18.60 crores more than its predecessor. It also brought in 12 crores* more and has now accumulated 30.60 million*
This is more than the opening weekend of the original part.
According to a Box Office India report the film's collection dropped by more than 35%. Its two-day collection was Rs 30 crore, with Rs 11.50 crore earned on Friday.
Love and Thunder has not been able to match the popularity of the recent big films Spider-Man
No Way Home, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness. No Way Home opened at Rs 32.67 crore the first day, and Rs 20.37 million the second.
After an opening of Rs 28.35 cr on day one, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness managed to attract incredible footfalls the second day.
